| Comments: | Saw The Purple Puzzle and made me think about my niece who died eight years ago. She was five months old and died in the baby swing at the babysitters. It was supposedly ruled SIDS but she was a fussy baby who cried a lot and underweight. The poor thing would just scream and not being around her a whole lot not sure what her diaper changes were like. She was taken to the doctor several times and always just said she was just a fussy baby...Not!...It still haunts me to this day that nothing was done for the poor little helpless girl. No testing, nothing.....It's sad to say but doctors don't know everything and sometimes don't know enough to do further checking on a "Fussy Baby".....thanks for listening and I'm so happy you had a good outcome!!! |

| Comments: | Hey, I was researching SDS and your journal came up. My 8month old, failure to thrive daughter is going through testings for this. I am nervous...He older brother also has 'mystery' issues that we have been trying to solve. I pray that this isn't what it is, but if it is. I wanted to talk to you to see how your baby girl is doing now? My Zoey was born 4-1-08 at 8.4lbs and is not 12lbs and holding, and short, has respiratory issues that are unsolved and came back neg. on a sweat CF test. Blessings to you for posting your story. I wanted to let you know that I saw Katie's story on Mystery Diagnosis - and I have finally found something that describes her symptoms to a T. I hope and pray that this is not it - but at the same time I just hope and pray for a diagnosis to this "issue" that has dictated the first two years of her life. Thank you for doing the show b/c you showed courage and you never gave up even when they didn't believe anything was wrong! I have been searching for so long that it gave me the kick in the butt that I needed to continue my search. Like you - I KNOW something is not right! Again - I am so glad Katie is growing and she seems like a happy little girl! |
